Sketches in Thyme: Beautiful explosion

Ready for my monthly appointment @ Sketches in Thyme ... this time I tried to follow the sketch drawn by Bev: I superimposed the three pictures, which is actually the same, the central one, the largest, it is in color, the other two smaller, in black and white.

Sparklers DT: Handmade

Today is my day @Spiegelmomscraps.com and my project is a layout dedicated to one of my passions: I paint on cotton fabric and then I sewed objects of daily use; bags, cases, handbags and sometimes jewels, like the pendant at the center of the page.

On the background I used a stencil and the beautiful and sparkling Gold Mine Texturez and three different stamps. I have constructed the various levels as the basis for the picture from a white doily, various patterned paper strips, washi tape, twine, a mini glassine bag where I printed the date several times.I finally entered the picture, placing it on the recycled cardboard to create thickness and give more three-dimensionality.

I added 4 mini clothespins, splashes of color, stickers words, and beautiful sequins: Lilac Twinkle, Jack Frost and Mint Chip.

A new project that I face for the first time ever ... the ATCs. They are so fun to make and I think this will not be the last time that I do. I made from a canvas two rectangles, slightly smaller than the standard of ATC size (2.5 "x 3.5"); I treated the background with black gesso. Once dry, I used the Shimmerz paint with a palette knife and Shimmerz texture paste with a stencil ...  the glowing effect of the color has a beautiful contrasting effect with the black background. I added some acrylic paint splatters, white and gold; I wrapped the twine around the card. Some scraps of patterned paper, punched butterfly , and as a final touch a little punched heart  and colored with metallic color and to make it more three-dimensional I covered it with a layer of gloss accent. Finally I cut from a white cardstock two rectangles (of the precise size of the ATCs)and I fixed on them the two smaller card.

Sparkles DT: Love memories - mini album

The project of this week is a mixed media mini album completely handmade.
I made the cover with the heavy recycled cardboard covered with cotton fabric. Before proceeding with the decoration I treated the background with the clear gel to isolate the tissue from the next steps and make it less absorbent.
The super fun part was to work the Shimmerz Paint with a spatula, once dry I used the Shimmerz Paste through the stencil to give texture to the background.
I then added various embellishments: lace, twines, wood veneer, beads and micro beads, small sequins. Finally many splashes of color.

The inside pages, bound with bind it all, have very few embellishments; for the background, as for the cover, I used Shimmerz Paint with a spatula and some stamped.

Sparklers DT: Time well spent

I made this LO by focusing at the center of the page, initially darkening the base color of the paper with Distress Ink; then again using a stencil and Distress Ink with blending tool.To emphasize the picture I used  Gold Shimmerz Paints with a spatula by drawing a circle through the stencil: I love these textures pastas, perfect to be used in various ways and that give excellent results.I also added a number of stamped to give more movement to the background.

I created a series of levels with different patterned paper, and between the various layers  I added a piece of tulle that I colored with Shimmerz, some twine, stickers, wood veneer.
Finally, the part that always amuses me: so many splashes of color.

Thank you for coming to the end of this post and you will want to play with the colors, if you had not done before. I hope to read your comments and … enjoy !!!
xoxo, Lea

Sketches in Thyme PL: Today... smile Tag

Here I am, this for the monthly appointment for Sketches in Thyme PL: I respected the sketch, (designed by Shawn), almost literally this time, and I used very few elements: I colored the background with the Distress Ink using the blending tool, splashed with water to react the ink and make the color more dynamic ;I  added the splashes of color, washi tape, a few crystals and stamped and embossed text (title only).

This time the card is not going to enriching the construction of a LO but I thought I'd do something else and build around a tag, that lately I really like to use.

For the background of the tag I used two beautiful colors Primary Elements, Luminarte (That I love madly !!!) ... and then many splashes of color, stamped, twine, crystals, tulle and an handmade flair button.

For today's blog hop you should have arrived here from Amy's blog. Amy is a very talented creative: her creations with a fresh and clean style are small jewels.

For today's project I made a mixed media tag where I played with the colors freely.

I used a manila tag # 8 and I started with the black gesso for the background.  Then I had fun with various stencils and colored  and wonderfully bright pastes,Shimmerz dazzlers texture paste: Gummy Berry Blue, Sour Apple Green  and Shimmerz paint, Gold Mine texturez

Little tip. Do you like flairs, but you do not have at hand? Maybe a very specific color or with a particular quote? I solved it this way: I used the metal base  to make the covered buttons.
In this tags I first painted it with three layers of gesso and then I painted it with acrylic gold. If you want to have a glossy finish, just make sure that the color is dry and paint it with a polishing paint .It just has to free own imagination..

Thank you for spending your time with us today!  I'd love for you be in the running for one of 3 prizes Jody is giving away on this blog hop, so be sure to leave comments on all the blogs to be entered!  Now, you'll be heading over to Ka's blog.
